About Me
A Classical Chameleon
I am no stranger to the complexities of life. In fact, I welcome complexity - and all the mess, vulnerability, and big emotions that accompany it - in both my artistic and personal life.
When I take on any role, I infuse it with empathy, a rich emotional life, and a sense of humor. I am especially drawn to projects in which I can undergo true transformation- in body, voice, speech, & appearance.
In recent years my credits reflect the breadth of my versatility through the various Shakespearean roles I have embodied. I have found great freedom and possibility in Shakespeare a language gymnasium, (so to speak) - where I can continuously grow, play, and explore the vastness of the human experience through complex texts.

While classical works seem to align most with my predilection for tackling challenging language and taking on deeply expressive roles, I do enjoy working on contemporary and new works and look forward to more opportunities to work in those genres.
In addition to theater, I live a creative life- I sing, play guitar, do burlesque, paint, and am always looking for unique ways to keep my cat Mr. Dinkles from eating food from my plate.

"Introducing the character with unsettling, fishlike movement, Töve Wood makes Caliban a shifty wild card...Wood keeps the character unpredictable."
